NOTE: I had originally posted this under the PC section, but no. I'm hoping that this section will get some additions, but if not I'll just delete the question.

I thought I'd try and create a list of freeware and open-source games for the PC, just so _some_ people don't keep asking for links to free games. Though I'm sure people will continue to do it anyway, so I'm doing this for people who are reasonably smart.

Please do not add abandonware sites to your list, because I do not want any illegal downloads added to the list and I'm going to link the abandonware web ring anyway. Do not add non-DOS/Windows games to your list.

The best answer will be whichever answer has the most freeware/open-source games linked to it without any link copies from other answerers. Also, if you link to illegal downloads you will forfeit your chance at the best abandonware freeware games download freeanswer.

IMPORTANT: I do _not_ want online only games added to this list.

All links that I consider good will be added to my question as additional information.
