Although the earth is more than 4.5 billion years old; its core is still molten. (The source of the heat inside the earth would make a good extra credit report). The energy which creachanging earth surfacetes this heat is constantly forcing molten rock up through the surface as volcanoes. Beneath the Atlantic Ocean, molten rock is gradually pushing North America farther from Europe.
